Black Country Housing Group’s involvement in community development began more than eight years ago through its Tenant and Community Initiatives Department. Partnership is an integral part of the department’s work and over the years a number of joint projects have been delivered in partnership with the community across several different Local Authorities. In October 2003, the department was re-launched as Community Regeneration which more accurately reflects the nature of its work.
The Department is headed by Elemay Parkes, Director of HR and Community Regeneration, and comprises of a team from diverse backgrounds; providing the department with a wide range of skills gained through individual experience of working with the community.
The Community Regeneration Department is currently supporting local groups and individuals on health, community development and resident and community empowerment.
