Benefits Maximisation for Over 55s
Black Country Housing > Regeneration > Benefits Maximisation for Over 55s

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), through the Pension Service Partnership Fund, have agreed funding for a new initiative to improve the take-up of older people’s benefits. The 18 month project will target those aged 55 and over in the North-West Birmingham and Walsall areas.

The project’s objectives are:

  • To promote independence in older people
  • Improve access to services
  • Encourage partnership working

This initiative is being delivered by Black Country Housing Group’s Community Regeneration and Care & Repair Departments in partnership with Trinity Housing Resource Centre (THRC) and Handsworth Area Regeneration Trust (HART) together with community and voluntary groups in Walsall.

Drop-in Sessions

Regular drop-in sessions are being held at Trinity Housing Resource Centre in Handsworth, 70 Villa Road B19 1BL from 1.30 to 4.00 pm.

Figures show that more than two billion pounds is left unclaimed by people aged 60 and over, this project aims to make a difference to the lives of many older people – if you are over 55 let us help you get what you are entitled to.
