As part of our broad community involvement and in recognition of the ethnicity of the local area, we encourage job applications from members of the community who can offer language skills and awareness of the cultural needs of the clients we serve. In addition, we are a disability symbol user and guarantee an interview to all disabled applicants who meet the essential criteria of the job.
Family friendly working conditions, modern and bright offices with a staff café and the encouragement of innovative ideas all go towards making Black Country Housing Group an employer of choice.
We encourage all our employees to maximize their potential through specific training courses, study packages to achieve professional qualifications, and tailored personal development plans as requested through annual appraisal meetings.
We also have an in-house comprehensive core training programme that all staff attend. In addition, managers regularly attend conferences and seminars to ensure their knowledge is up to date and the group is able to plan effectively for future developments in
legislation. Not content with following others, we strive to be the front runner in setting best practice within the social housing sector.
All staff receive 25 days annual leave. In addition to the statutory entitlement of eight public holidays, BCH staff receive an additional four concessionary days. BCH also offers a Final Salary Pension Scheme. For more details of these and other benefits, please click here for our full Staff Benefits Statement (PDF).
The Group also invests in the future by having a Graduate Trainee Programme. Up to three graduates are employed each year, spending time in each department, managing projects and experiencing all aspects of the Group over a twelve month period before moving into a permanent role within the Group. A typical comment made by one of the Graduate Trainees was “This is an ideal opportunity to experience different departments of an organisation before committing to working in just one”.
