Quality Assurance
Who makes sure we provide excellent services?
Black Country Housing Group offers a range of services covering housing and care. To ensure the standards of service are high we are regulated by a number of organisations.
Who are the regulators?
The Tenant Services Authority (TSA) ensures that BCHG follow the requirements set out for all housing associations. These make sure that we are well run, the Board controls the organisation effectively and we are financially sound, both now and in the future. The TSA are working on new guidelines at the moment which will put tenants at the heart of decisions.

The Audit Commission work closely with the TSA and carry out inspections of housing providers. They aim to help housing organisations to provide high-quality services, within their available resources, that reflect what tenants and wider communities want.
The Care Quality Commission is the independent regulator of social care in England. They ensure that the quality of care at our domiciliary care schemes, such as Havacre Lane and Apsley House, is of a high standard.
The Housing Ombudsman service investigates complaints about housing providers. You have the right to take a complaint to them if you are unhappy with the result of a complaint that you have taken through your landlord’s complaint process. The Housing Ombudsman has the power to make recommendations to housing associations, such as BCHG, to put things right or improve services in the future.
